The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division and Commander Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Brig.-Gen. Ibikunle Ajose stated this during a special Eid-el-Fitr luncheon hosted by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede.

Addressing the troops, the GOC who was represented by Maj. Gen. AK Ibrahim at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Faskari, Katsina State commended the troops bravery and commitment, stating that recent operations had dealt major blows to criminal elements terrorising the region.

“In the first quarter of 2025, we successfully neutralised several high-profile bandit leaders and their foot soldiers while destroying their enclaves. These victories are testaments to your dedication and sacrifice,” he said.

Despite these successes, he acknowledged the sacrifices made by fallen and wounded soldiers, urging troops to remain focused and vigilant.

He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to promoting the core values of the Army and ensuring continued success in the fight against banditry.
