Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction Professor Nantawe Yilwatda has donated 900 bags of cement to victims of a fire outbreak at Katako Timber Market in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The member representing Jos North West in the Plateau State House of Assembly Mark Na’ah while presenting the consignment to the victims on behalf of the minister vowed to always identify and sympathise with the people during their trying times.
Professor Yilwatda expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way in assisting the victims in rebuilding the market and resume their business, noting that the donation has no connection with politics but strictly humanitarian support.
Similarly, the member representing Jos North -North in the State House of Assembly, in whose constituency the market is located, Adamu Aliyu, appreciated the minister for the gesture, noting that it will assist in bringing back business activities in the market.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the timber market Yusuf Umar also thanked the minister for the gesture.
