The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has conducted its largest-ever promotion exercise and promoted  10,005 personnel nationwide through a technology-driven process designed to ensure transparency, fairness and inclusiveness.

The exercise saw the participation of 3,597 intermediate rank officers and 6,408 junior officers across the corps’ formations nationwide and was supervised by the corps marshal of the FRSC, Shehu Mohammed.

In a statement signed by deputy corps commander and corps public education officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the FRSC said the 2026 promotion exercise was powered by advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platforms, which were deployed to eliminate administrative bottlenecks, improve operational efficiency, and guarantee equal opportunities for all eligible personnel based on merit, competence, and performance.

According to him, the exercise commenced on June 14 across the Corps’ 12 Zonal Commands, with monitoring cameras deployed to ensure compliance with established procedures. Representatives of the corps marshal supervised the process, while observers from the office of the secretary to the government of the Federation and the federal character commission monitored proceedings to ensure adherence to the Corps Promotion Policy and the Federal Character Principle.

He said a major highlight of the exercise was the successful inclusion of officers pursuing academic and professional development programmes abroad. Through remote participation enabled by digital technology, affected personnel were able to take part in the promotion exercise without interrupting their studies.”

The FRSC said the initiative reflects the corps marshal’s commitment to staff welfare, career development, and the creation of a highly motivated and professional workforce.

The corps noted that placing career progression at the centre of its human resource policy has helped strengthen confidence in the system while promoting productivity, accountability, and healthy competition among personnel.
