The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has inaugurated ad hoc committees for the 2026 Hajj operations, urging members to discharge their duties with integrity and professionalism.

Speaking during the inauguration at the Meena Event Centre in Kano, the board’s Director-General, Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle, described the assignment as a sacred responsibility aimed at ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery to intending pilgrims.

Matawalle said Governor Abba Yusuf entrusted the committee members with the responsibility of ensuring the success of the Hajj exercise.

He charged the members to demonstrate honesty, dedication and accountability in the discharge of their assignments.

“The task before you is a sacred trust. You must justify the confidence reposed in you through commitment, discipline and transparency,” he said.

He added that the board remained committed to providing quality services to pilgrims from the state before, during and after the pilgrimage.
