33-yr-old Man Dies After Falling Into Well In Kano

Tragedy struck in Kawon Alhaji Sani, Layin Mai Unguwa of Nasarawa local government area, Kano, when a 33-year-old man identified as Muhd Sagir lost his life after falling into a dry well on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of Kano State Fire Service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, a distress call was received at about 12:42 p.m. on 4th June, 2025, from one Sabi’u Muhammad, who reported the incident.

Abdullahi said the agency’s emergency crew, immediately responded and upon arrival, rescuers found that the victim, a resident of Kawon Arewa, had already fallen deep into the abandoned well.

The Service spokesman said the victim was retrieved unconscious and was later confirmed dead.

He added that the remains of the deceased were handed over to the ward head of Kawon Arewa, Alhaji Hamisu.
