Religious leaders have been called upon to support the present administration of President Bola Tinubu in the ongoing fight against corruption, poverty, disease, and insecurity in the country.

The president Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Rev. Daniel Okoh, gave the advice at the opening of the annual Anglican Church Commonwealth Conference in Abuja.

Okoh said Christians must not only pray but also pull resources together to defeat all the challenges facing humanity.

He assured that the association would continue to raise a prophetic voice to guide those in authority and also pray for them to succeed.

According to the CAN president, the Christian association remains non-partisan and must not be seen as an opposition to the government of the day.

Earlier, former primate, Nicholas Okoh appealed to President Bola Tinubu to give special attention to the welfare of Nigerians as the legal battle against the election was over.

Okoh also stressed the need for the federal government to find a solution to end the Japa Syndrome by youths in the quest for greener pastures.

The former Primate believed that provisions of empowerment and job opportunities for youths would address restiveness and insecurity in the country.

In his opening remarks, Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Henry Ndukuba said the Church has established Nomadic and Diaspora Missions to reach out to those that have moved from one part of the country to another.

According to him, those considered under the new mission are people who moved in search of a better life, and those displaced by insecurity among other reasons.

Over 5,000 bishops and members of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion within and outside the country are attending the four-day programme with the theme “What is that in your hand.”
