The renowned Nollywood actor, also known as Sobaloju of Edeland, passed away at the age of 73 after a prolonged illness.

Fatimat, who spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, reminisced about her father’s legacy, stating that his impact would remain in the minds of those who knew him.

She acknowledged that the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) would deeply miss his presence and unique personality within the industry.

“My father’s contributions to the entertainment industry will be sorely missed,” she said. “It will be difficult to find someone else like him.”

Fatimat also commended TAMPAN’s unwavering support during her father’s illness, saying, “We didn’t want to burden the association, but they continued to do their best to ensure his recovery. Ultimately, all things are in God’s hands.”

The late actor, born into the family of the late Mr Abdulsalam Aderemi and the late Mrs Aisha Aderemi of the Jagun-Olukosi compound in Ede, Osun, on May 15, 1960, left behind a rich legacy that touched countless lives.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun expressed his deep sorrow at the passing of Adedeji Aderemi. In a condolence message, he stressed the actor’s significant contributions to the film industry and acknowledged the immense loss felt by the state.

“Olofa Ina brought immense joy to audiences through his films,” the governor said.

“His lessons and insights will continue to resonate for years to come. My heartfelt condolences go to his family, the people of Ede, and the entire movie industry. May they find solace in his remarkable achievements.”

TAMPAN, Osun Chapter, also mourned the loss of their esteemed member. Chairman of the chapter, Marufudeen Lawal, spoke to NAN about the immense respect and admiration held for Aderemi’s talent and character.

“Aderemi’s death is a shock to us all,” Lawal said. “He was not only a gifted actor but also a mentor and guiding light for many aspiring creatives. He will be dearly missed.”

Lawal further described Aderemi’s recent illness and the association’s ongoing support throughout his difficult journey. He emphasized the important role model Aderemi played for younger generations and expressed his condolences to the family, praying for comfort and strength during this time of grief.

The passing of Adedeji Aderemi marks a significant loss for the Nigerian entertainment industry. His talent, dedication, and inspiring contributions will undoubtedly be remembered for generations to come.
