A total of 200 vulnerable indigenes of Ijebu Igbo at the weekend benefitted from the distribution of free food items donated by the Demola Okeowo Foundation for the people of Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The foundation, made up of a group of concerned natives of Ogun State both home and in the diaspora under the chairmanship of a medical practitioner, Dr. Demola Okeowo, is committed to lifting the standard of living of the Ijebu people of Ogun East Senatorial district.
At the distribution of the food items, Okeowo advocated for a renewed mindset of Nigerians in such a way that would propel an attitudinal change towards achieving the President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda that would make every citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy in all ramifications.
In what could be termed as a clarion call for a shift in the country’s governance narrative, Okeowo admonished the citizens to embrace, “The Renewed Mindset Agenda” alongside the national vision for renewed hope, emphasizing that, “Nigeria will be better but we need a renewed mindset combined with the Renewed Hope agenda.
He said, “I totally agreed with the Renewed mindset agenda. The government has this renewed hope agenda which I think is good. President Tinubu has an agenda for this country but it goes beyond what the government want to do for us , as a people we also need that renewed mindset .’’
In his remarks, the executive director of the foundation, Adewale Adebari, said the foundation is a group of concerned people of Ogun State, both in Nigeria and in Diaspora, who are committed to the well-being of the people in the state.
Adebari said the foundation’s belief is that the welfare and well-being of the people in Ogun State must not be left to the government alone, but must be a Public-Private partnership driven initiative.
