Another Wole Soyinka documentary ‘Ebrohimie Road: A Museum of Memory’ centering around a house that played a key role during and after his 36 months detention in the Nigerian prison is set to release in July 2024.

In the film trailer, the Nobel Laureate, Soyinka said, “the most dramatic and significant achievement on Ebrohimie road was that it was from there I went into detention, and it was back there to which I returned.”

As a lecturer at the University of Ibadan (UI) at the time, Soyinka lived at a bungalow flat in Ebrohimie Road, an unmissable spot for passersby.

Commentators in the documentary include laureate’s brother-in-law, Kunle Idowu, Professor of African and Africa-American Literature, University of Ibadan, Remi Raji; and his former student, now acclaimed Poet and Lecturer, Professor Niyi Osundare, among others.

‘Ebrohimie Road: A Museum of Memory’, is produced by Olongo Africa with the support of Open Society Foundation and Sterling Bank Nigeria. It written and directed by Yoruba Translator and author, Kola Tubosun, with cinematography by Tunde Kelani.
