Governorship hopeful, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, has officially submitted his nomination forms to contest for the governorship ticket under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that his ambition is driven by the need to restore basic amenities and improve the lives of the people of Ekiti State.

Speaking shortly after submitting his forms at the party’s secretariat, Abuja, Fayose described ADC as a “serious and transparent party” with credible leadership, saying it represents the platform for genuine change in the state.

“A lot of things have gone wrong in the city. We don’t have roads, we don’t have lights, and we don’t have water. People can hardly eat one meal a day, and our youth have turned to Okada for survival. These are the things we are going to change once I become the next governor by the grace of God,” he said.
Fayose, who noted that he had personally funded repairs of some roads in the state, said his campaign would focus on infrastructure, youth empowerment, and industrial development.

“I’m young and dynamic. I’ve been using my personal resources to fix roads and improve people’s lives. During our time, there will be real improvement,” he added.

While expressing confidence in his chances, Fayose said both he and the ADC remain the candidates to beat, stressing that the ruling party’s days in power are numbered.

“ADC is the party to beat, and I’m the candidate to beat. By the grace of God, the next government of Ekiti will be formed by ADC,” he stated.

Fayose called on the people of Ekiti to support his vision, assuring them that “a new light is about to unveil” for the state.

Addressing party members at the event, the ADC national organising secretary, Dr Chinedu Idigo, urged aspirants to mobilise support at the grassroots, emphasising that the ongoing membership revalidation exercise would strengthen the party ahead of the polls.

“The more members you have, the more votes you will get in the next election. The real work begins after the primaries, and only those who are serious and committed will succeed,” Dr Idigo said.

He assured all aspirants of a transparent process and pledged the party’s commitment to fair play in the forthcoming primaries.
