“We are cultivating a legacy of excellence, and Abuja serves as our platform,” stated Yetunde Olopade, Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited (NSML), the event’s organisers. “The second edition aims to demonstrate to the world that Nigeria is capable of hosting an event characterised by precision, passion, and purpose.”

This year’s theme, “Steady Stride,” encapsulates the discipline, determination, and focus integral to marathon running. It embodies progress through consistency, mirroring Nigeria’s trajectory towards sporting excellence and a healthier, more unified society.

Whether elite athletes are chasing records or first-time participants are striving for personal goals, everyone will embody the strength of taking steady strides toward achievement.

Abuja is poised to welcome athletes from Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Europe, and Asia, with local preparations well underway. The city’s infrastructure is being optimised, race routes are precisely measured, and volunteers are mobilised to ensure a first-class experience.
