Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has led the ongoing membership revalidation and registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state by registering as Member 001, describing the exercise as a critical step toward strengthening party unity, inclusiveness, and credible documentation of members.

A statement issued by the director general Press Affairs and Media the Governor, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed said Buni performed the registration on Tuesday in Damaturu at the commencement of the exercise, which was supervised by the Yobe State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, in company of other party executives and government officials.

The governor said the membership revalidation and registration exercise was not only aimed at updating the party register but also at ensuring that no loyal member is left behind in the process.

The exercise he said is open to both old and new members, urging party members across wards, local government areas and senatorial zones to fully participate within the stipulated period.

He appealed to the party’s leadership at all levels to work with commitment and transparency to guarantee a hitch-free exercise, stressing that membership revalidation was a key component of internal party organisation and development.

“Every member of the party should be registered or have his membership revalidated. No member should be disenfranchised,” Buni declared.

The governor charged party officials to ensure the proper revalidation of existing members while also registering new entrants, noting that the party’s growing influence in Yobe State must be supported by accurate and up-to-date records.

Buni explained that credible documentation of party members would help strengthen grassroots mobilisation, improve planning for party activities, and enhance internal cohesion.

He noted that the APC has continued to enjoy widespread acceptance in Yobe State, adding that the numerical strength and dominance of the party must be reflected in a verifiable membership register across the state.

“As the leading party in Yobe State and Nigeria, we should justify this numerical strength through proper documentation of our membership,” he advised.

The Yobe State APC Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka has while speaking, commended Governor Buni for personally leading the exercise and registering as Member 001, describing the gesture as a demonstration of commitment to internal party processes and discipline.

Gadaka assured that the party leadership would ensure fairness and transparency across registration centres in all wards of the state, adding that mechanisms had been put in place to address complaints and ensure that every eligible party member is captured.

He called on APC members to cooperate with registration officers and adhere strictly to guidelines to make the exercise successful.

The party chairman also urged local government and ward executives to provide the needed support to the registration teams, stressing that accurate documentation would further strengthen the APC in the state ahead of future political engagements.
