Ahead of the 2027 general elections and beyond, the National Youth Alliance (NYA), is the only movement in Nigeria that can boast of grassroots presence, and would use its advantage in determining the outcome of the polls, its president, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has said.

In a welcome address at the inauguration of local government areas coordinators at the prestigious Mambayya House, Gwammaja, Kano State, yesterday, Abbas said the group wasnot happy with happenings in the country, henceit is poised at capturing young people to actively participate in electioneering, adding that only the NYA had the structures in all the states and local government areas of Nigeria.

He prayed to God to provide Nigeria with leaders that would propel it to greater heights.

Abbas said that a week ago, the 36 state chairmen and that of FCT were inaugurated to be followed by the inauguration of the local government coordinators in the Northwest.

He praised the organisers of the event for ensuring a colourful ceremony.

He said NYA is concerned about Nigeria and would protect the interest and values of the country.

According to him, attempts were made to register NYA as a political party, to give young people the right to contest, but their constitutional right was denied by INEC.

He said as a result, they decided to retain it as a movement.
