‎Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has finally opened up on why she allowed her ex-husband to attend their daughter’s wedding.

‎In an interview with Moray o Afolabi Brown, Iyabo said she believes in ancestral curses, noting that her parents were divorced and she didn’t want a repeat for her daughter.

‎Iyabo said she had made up her mind that whatever had happened wouldn’t affect her children. She emphasised that she paid the price for her daughter to succeed and be happy.

‎The mother of two further noted that her children’s father is alive and not dead.

‎“So I don’t know there’s something called ancestral curses and we African believe it, I believe if you don’t want something to continue you have to be able to break it, I made up my mind whatever situation that had happened cause my dad my mom also you know we’re not together yeah every mistake they had made that I have made my children will not make it. I have paid the price for her to succeed, for her to be happy in her marriage; her father is not dead; he’s alive”.

‎When Priscilla held her introduction and Nikka ceremony in Tanzania, her father was absent, which raised eyebrows. Many speculated that he was absent because he wasn’t invited, because he was allegedly a deadbeat.

Shutting the reports down, Priscilla’s father had attended her traditional and white wedding, where he walked her down the aisle. At the traditional wedding, he was captured maintaining social distance with his ex, Iyabo.

‎‎Iyabo Ojo was once married to the father of her two kids, Priscilla and Festus Ojo, Mr. Ademidun Ojo. Unfortunately, the marriage fell apart shortly after the birth of their two children.

‎‎Iyabo had always mentioned that after their marriage ended, her children— Festus and Priscilla— did not know she had divorced their father until Priscilla was 15.

‎Speaking on her divorce, Iyabo, in a podcast interview, revealed that she experienced poverty for the first time when she married her now ex-husband. She described the experience with her ex-husband as an adventure for her, as she was craving attention.
