All is now set for the 10th edition of the Abuja Provincial Conference of the Divine Mercy Apostolate slated for August 24 to 27, 2023 in Abuja.
The three-day event with the theme: ‘Divine Mercy, Accompanying Us Every Moment of Our Life’ will have about 1,000 devotees of Divine Mercy Devotion in the eight dioceses under the Abuja Ecclesiastical Province of the Catholic church converging at the Abuja Archdiocese to make supplications to God on behalf of mankind, among other power-packed programmes.
The event, which will hold at Rex Christus College within the premises of Christ the King (CKC) Parish, Kubwa, Abuja, will have His Grace, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama, say the official opening mass at 10 am on Friday, August 25. Participants are to arrive at the venue on August 24 for registration, accommodation and other arrangements.
Chairman of the local organising committee, Mr Uzoma Egornu, told our correspondent that the programme had been designed to give participants three days of spiritual retreat, with various priests handling various topics and other spiritual activities that would enrich the devotees with the knowledge and practice of true Christianity.
“We want participants to come prepared for three days of pilgrimage with the Lord Jesus Christ. We have made efforts to the best of our ability and resources to provide participants a memorable spiritual experience,” he said.
He said the theme was apt in view of the socio-economic challenges Nigerians are facing, adding that God is with them in their present struggles.
The Abuja archdiocesan leader of the association, Mr Romanus Chukwu, said the archdiocese was fine-tuning its preparations to welcome the participants and other faithful from the dioceses of Lafia, Lokoja, Ida, Otukpo, Makurdi, Gboko and Katsina Ala and prayed for their safe arrival.
According to him, the conference will be brimming with rich faith content, even as he encouraged all faithful to endeavor to participate fully in the pilgrimage event.
