Adamawa State deputy governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has admonished women to be useful and fulfil God’s purpose in their lives by being humble and cheerful givers.
Farauta spoke while delivering a sermon at the special church service organised at the Chaplain of the Government House Yola, yesterday.
The unique church service was dedicated to celebrating women and their contributions to the church and humanity.
Farauta who doubles as the guest preacher at the service, said God would show mercy if people turn around despite their shortcomings.
In her sermon, “Beautiful Dorcas,” the deputy governor explained that to be called beautiful, one must be useful and fit for God’s purpose.
She cited several scriptures in the Bible, emphasising the importance of availing themselves as women to be beautiful for Jesus, just like Dorcas in the Bible.
The preacher reminded them to uphold humility, patience, modesty, contentment, compassion, peace-loving, quiet spirit and calmness among other good works as demonstrated by Dorcas.
She also tasked them with giving arms, adding that fulfilling God’s purpose in their lives depends on doing His will.
“Fulfilling the purpose of God for my life determines how beautiful I am,” she asserted.
