Akiotu, a 1977 graduate of the prestigious institution and former group managing director of DAAR Communications Plc (2010-2024), will lead efforts to strengthen the alumni network in Abuja and surrounding states.

BAOSA national president Olumide Ajomale described the appointment as strategic in a statement.
“Chief Akiotu‘s proven leadership in corporate Nigeria makes him uniquely qualified to unite our Abuja alumni. We are confident he will bring fresh energy and innovative ideas to grow our presence in the region,“ he stated.

He stated that the new chairman‘s mandate includes identifying and reconnecting Baptist Academy alumni across the region, organising a major reunion event, establishing mentorship programs for younger graduates and strengthening the association‘s philanthropic initiatives.

The BAOSA national president further stated that the Abuja Region has seen significant membership growth in recent years, and stakeholders believe Akiotu‘s corporate experience and extensive network will accelerate this expansion.
