The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has taken delivery of 10 trucks loaded with machines for the soon-to-be-launched Food Basket Brewery, Benfruit, and Juice Factories in Makurdi, slated for October 2025.

Managing Director Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, who made this known while taking delivery of the machines at the BIPC headquarters on Thursday, said the company had earlier received 16 truckloads of machineries for the beer company out of the expected 50 trucks, bringing the number to 26 trucks received so far.

The MD informed that three factories will be launched in October 2025, which will create employment opportunities for the state’s teeming unemployed youths, alleviate poverty, and boost the Benue economy.

According to him, “We have decided to deliberately establish these factories to remove the growing multitude of graduates from the streets.

“We are projecting to employ not less than 1500 direct jobs across the three businesses.

“At the moment, Benue don’t have businesses, we are introducing these businesses so that they will help us boost our economy and take our youths off the streets,” he said.

Asemakaha said that to establish a standard brewery, about £5m to £10m was needed for the project, adding that they had already started and there was no going back.

He said that when commissioned, the brewery factory will generate between N400 million to N500 million monthly.

He said the company, through the establishment of the previous factories, have provided 580 direct jobs and over 3,000 indirect jobs for the Benue people.

“We want our money to rotate within the state to boost our economy. The brewery is a big market. The profit of the Nigerian Brewery in the last time I know was over N26 billion a month.

“The businesses that we have introduced, the bread, nails, water, and polythene factories are to give our people jobs, and we feel that is the best way to contribute to the development of our economy,” he said.
