Birnin Kudu Gets Sarkin Dawaki

The spokesman of Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club, Alhaji Ibrahim Isyaku, has been turbaned as the first Sarkin Dawakin Birnin Kudu of Jigawa State.

The District Head of Birnin Kudu, Alhaji Usaini Hassan Birnin Kudu (Sarkin Kudun), approved the turbaning which took place at his palace.

The event was held in a ceremony marked by traditional music, dance, horse rides and attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, from within and outside Jigawa State.

Alhaji Ibrahim Isyaku, a former news manager and current commercial manager of Jigawa State Television (JTV), expressed his gratitude for the honour.

Speaking shortly after the turbaning, the District Head of Birnin Kudu, Alhaji Usaini Hassan Jibrin, stated that the new Sarkin Dawaki was appointed based on merit.

He explained that the palace considered his moral integrity, professionalism, selfless commitment to community service and his dedication to addressing challenges and issues of public interest.

 

The District Head who said the appointment of Ibrahim Isyaku as Sarkin Dawaki is with the approval of His Highness, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi, charged him to uphold the traditions, cultural norms and regulations of the emirate in discharging his responsibilities.

 

“I hope he will bring his experience, skills, moral discipline and pedigree to promote the Birnin Kudu Palace, offer more selfless service to the Dutse Emirate, Jigawa State, and humanity at large.”

 

In his response, Alhaji Isyaku thanked the District Head for finding him worthy of the exalted position, promising to uphold the confidence reposed in him.

He also expressed gratitude to the chairman of Birnin Kudu local government area, representatives from the Ningi Emirate and all the dignitaries who graced the turbaning ceremony.
