National Boundary Commission (NBC) has vowed to tackle the longstanding challenges affecting border communities, particularly between Bauchi and Jigawa States.
NBC team leader, Yusuf Ibrahim made the commitment when he led a field exercise team to inspect border lines connecting Jigawa, Kano and Bauchi States (tripartite areas).
He observed that the move was aimed at providing a permanent resolution by tracing existing boundary pillars and finding lasting solutions to the challenges.
Surveyor Ibrahim emphasised the importance of collective responsibility in the field exercise, saying it ensures that everyone is involved in achieving the set objectives.
Bauchi State deputy governor and chairman of the State Boundary Commission, Auwal Jatau, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to addressing boundary disputes with Jigawa State.
Jatau, represented by deputy chief of staff, Government House Bauchi, Engr Muhammad Barde said under Governor Bala Mohammad’s leadership, the state has implemented open-door policies to maintain cordial relationships with neighbouring states.
