‘Voices Within’, a short film produced by Daurama Foundation and Take 7 Media will premiere November 30, at the Silverbird Galleria, in commemoration of the 16 Days Activism Against Gender-based Violence (GBV).
Written by Mahdi Elda and Emil Garuba, and directed by Take 7 Media’s founder and producer, Bem Pever, ‘Voices Within’ is the story of a young girl who to escape the reality of domestic violence at home, seeks escapes in the imaginary world she crafts in writing, to eventually find her voice and ultimately, hope.
The film stars unknown such as Grace Dauda, Mbasiti Jesse, Tolu Asanu, Franca Igwe, Lanzy Janpak, Hoomsuk Alex Jibrin, Austin Mangs, Senenge Abela among others.
Speaking of the film, Executive Producer and Chair of Daurama Foundation said its themes resonates with the foundation’s commitment to empowering women and fostering communities that advocate against violence.
A non-governmental organization focused on improving the health and advocating the rights of women and girls, Daurama Foundation develops programmes and resources that combat domestic violence and provide a pathway forward for GBV survivors.
