Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has reiterated his commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
The governor’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has never been in doubt as the government consistently aligned with the president’s reform agenda and has continue to support the federal government reform agenda aimed at improving the economy and the standard of living of Nigerians.
Despite the governor’s support for the Tinubu’s administration, the absence of Governor Radda’s name from the reported Presidential Campaign Council released at the weekend has triggered questions on why the governor name was omitted from the council.
More concerning are reports and speculations surrounding the growing influence of President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs/close ally, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, at the Villa.
There are also claims that police personnel attached to the Governor could be withdrawn and replaced with officers perceived to be loyal. These are serious issues that deserve clarity—not because Governor Radda is above security protocols, but because the security of a sitting Governor must never become a subject of political uncertainty.
The Governor’s Loyalty should not be questioned through administrative manoeuvres, and security arrangements should never be politicised. Katsina deserves clarity, stability and respect for its elected leadership.
Governor Radda has remained loyal to Tinubu. The same loyalty should be met with fairness, institutional respect and the assurance that the security of Katsina’s elected Governor is protected without political considerations.
