Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Edo State, Dr Isaiah Osifo, has promised to liberate the state from what he described as the huge debt profile the state has found itself under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led administration.
Osifo, the former chief of staff (CoS) to former Governor Oserheimen Osunbor commended President Bola Tinubu for his decision to have governor of Anambra State on the Economic Management Team of Nigeria.
He said APGA as a political party had shown that it has the capacity to address the economic challenges and social challenges bedevilling the country, adding that Anambra State under APGA has clearly demonstrated that under Prof Chukwuma Soludo, the former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor.
He said if voted for at the September 21, 2024 governorship election Edo State under his watch will heave a sigh of relief from the burden of debt in the state.
Osifo said, “I commend President Bola Tinubu for his decision to appoint the governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo into the Economic Management Team of Nigeria.
“This is an appointment based on merit and non-partisan for the economic recovery of Nigeria. When people ask me why APGA? One of the reasons, to associate with policy achievers and scholars that have demonstrated ability for sustainable development in Nigeria.
“Prof Soludo has governed Anambra State for two years without borrowing a kobo. I will take Edo State out of the huge debts and work with good heads for rapid development.
“I trust in the experience and intellectual capacity of Prof Soludo to address the critical issues that will assist the federal government under the leadership of president Tinubu, in the efforts for economic recovery and development of the country.
“APGA produced Peter Obi, APGA produced Prof Soludo and APGA will produce Dr Isaiah Osifo in Edo State by the will of the people and by the grace of God, to work to restore democracy and rapid development in Edo State.
“We are in a crucial time in the history of our country and Edo State. This is not time for sentiment; it is time for the best in the interest of our state.”
