General Elections: NAOSS Screen Aspirants, As National Convention Holds Saturday

The national body of the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS), on Wednesday, screened aspirants contesting for various electoral positions within the association.

The screening, which was done both virtually and physically, was held at the Conference Room of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Secretariat, had aspirants from different higher institutions across the country.

According to the Convention Planning Committee (CPC) Chairman, Comrade Akinwunmi Akeem Akinsola, revealed that the aspirants were vying for various positions which included, National President, National General Secretary , National Public Relations Officer, National Senate President , and National Clerk of the Senate of the association.

Names of the aspirants contesting for the various positions were

National President:
Comrade Olanose James (Cooperative College, Ijeja)

Comrade Ajayi Oluwafemi Sunday (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife)

Comrade Adeosun Joshua (Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State)

Comrade Solaru Ayomide Omoteniola (Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State)

Narional Senate President:
Comrade AbdulRaheem Aminat Abolanle (Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State)

National Clerk of the Senate:
Comrade Sodipe Emmanuel (Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun State)

Comrade Jamiu Mubarak Olamilekan
Tai Solarin Federal University of Education
Aspirant for the post of NAOSS Welfare

Comrade Sokoya Abdulkarim (University of Ilorin, Kwara State), amongst others, for various positions.

However, reports made available to the National Reports stated that the general convention of the association is scheduled to hold on Saturday at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abeokuta Study Centre, while the inauguration will hold on Sunday

The Ogun Police Command, in a letter signed by the CPC Chairman and addressed to the Commissioner of Police, has also been informed about the upcoming general convention and for the request for intelligence and security monitoring of the convention.

Members of the CPC Electoral Committee are also Senator Oladeinde Adebisi Mary (Kwara Polytechnic), Senator Adesanya Glory (Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State), who facilitated success of the screening.
