A governorship hopeful in Nasarawa State for the 2027 general election, Sadiq Osude, has urged the people of the state to come out en mass and participate in the  Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise which kicked off yesterday.

Osude, a philanthropist and entrepreneur, who recently declared his intention to run for the office of  governor of Nasarawa State, made the call in a statement issued by his Media Office.

He urged residents across all 13 local government areas to come out in large numbers to register, describing the exercise as a non-negotiable step toward securing their future, saying it was their moment to rise and be counted.

“Voter registration is not just a civic duty; it is the very foundation of our democratic power. With Nigeria’s current voter count at 93,469,008, every single registration from Nasarawa is a voice added to our collective destiny.

“I commend INEC for restarting this vital process, as it is through this mechanism that we can take back control of our state and literally determine our own destiny with our hands,” he said.

Osude also used the opportunity to educate and remind citizens of their responsibility in the electoral process, stressing the need for careful handling of their voter’s card.

“It is the duty of every eligible citizen to register and ensure that his or her name is correctly listed on the register of voters in the area where he or she intends to cast his/her vote.

“The Permanent Voter’s Card which is issued to every voter qualifies him/her to vote in an election. This card must be kept safe. It is not transferable. It must not be sold, given to another person or damaged.

“To prevent the PVC from damage or loss, the voter must keep it safe and only come out with it on Election Day to cast his/her vote; not sit on it as this can lead to the destruction of its antenna—a broken antenna makes the PVC unusable; keep it away from direct sunlight, heat, water or wet surface; and not bend it,” he said.
