The Unity Advocacy Group (UAG) has issued a compelling call to terrorists and criminals in Nigerian society, urging them to lay down their arms and surrender.

The group’s message comes in the wake of recent incidents, including the crash of a Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter and an ambush of troops in the Shiroro area of Niger State.

In a press release, UAG’s Convener, Ifeanyi Aigbedion, commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their unwavering dedication and sacrifices in the pursuit of peace and stability.

Despite the challenges faced by the military, UAG expressed confidence in the leadership of Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, and their determination to eliminate enemies of the country.

UAG highlighted the recent surrender of 78 Boko Haram terrorists and their family members to troops of Sector 3 Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Operation Hadin Kai in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.

The surrender was attributed to the sustained onslaught on terrorist hideouts by troops, underscoring the effectiveness of their operations.

The group urged Nigerians to continue their unwavering support and prayers for the Armed Forces, acknowledging that the sacrifices made by the military for peace and stability were unparalleled by any other institution in the country.

UAG’s statement emphasized that with the collective support and prayers of the nation, a brighter future was inevitable.

They said “the recent surrender of 78 more Boko Haram terrorists and their family members to the troops of Sector 3 Multinational Joint Task Force(MNJTF) Operation Hadin Kai in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State is a result of sustained onslaught on their hideouts by troops.

“We urge Nigerians to continue to support and pray for our troops, ably led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa. With our support and prayers, light will definitely be at the end of the tunnel.

“Their sacrifices for peace and stability cannot be matched by any other institution in the country.

“We use this opportunity to appeal to terrorists and other criminals in the society to lay down arms, because the AFN from our observation, will not give up in their pursuit. Now is the time, to surrender and turn a new leaf before it is too late,” UAG added.
