Nasarawa State deputy governor Emmanuel Akanbe ‘s driver, Daniel Ogoshi, has been kidnapped by gunmen.

Ogoshi was kidnapped at a friend’s residence around Ombi 2, near the state College of Agriculture Tuesday night, LEADERSHIP learnt, yesterday.

Recall that a former retired immigration officer, Mr Jacob Agada was kidnapped and killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers around the area recently.

A family friend who confirmed the abduction of the deputy governor’s driver said the assailants took him while leaving his phone and car behind.

He said he got a call at about 9:00pm from a friend in the area that Ogoshi was kidnapped and he alerted the police shortly after he got the information and they  moblised to the scene. He, however, said the kidnappers have not gotten in-touch with the family yet.

The information officer to the deputy governor, Emmanuel Ehima, also confirmed the incident which he described as unfortunate and sad. He said information about the kidnap was still sketchy, even as he said his principal has liaised with the appropriate authority on the matter.

The state Police Command’s public relations officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, has equally confirmed the incident, noting that the command is on top of the situation.
