Imo Deputy Governor Urges Grassroots Sensitisation To Public Policies

Imo State deputy governor, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, has charged stakeholders to sensitise the grassroots on government policies so that they can take advantage of numerous opportunities to better their lives.

She spoke at a crucial meeting of the stakeholders at the old Sam Mbakwe exco chamber, Government House, Owerri, the state capital.

The meeting was attended by members of the expanded state executive, the speaker and House of Assembly members, the state All Progressives Congress (AP) chairman, Hon. Ebere Macdonald, Eze Imo and chairmen of all local government councils of traditional rulers, state ALGON chairman and all the council chairmen.

Ekomaru reminded the stakeholders of the existence of the Imo State Health Insurance Scheme and requested the people to enrol massively in it.

She said, “Governor Hope Uzodimma has established the Health Insurance Scheme to assist the people in accessing free and quality healthcare.

We should, therefore, help sensitise the people to take full advantage of this opportunity for their well-being.

“Many lives will be saved when more people get enrolled into the scheme, as many people do not know their inherent health challenges until they are completely down,” she said.

She praised Governor Hope Uzodimma’s courage, gallantry, and strategies in taming the politically orchestrated security challenges the state has witnessed in the past. She stressed that the free movement and booming business environment in the state are due to the peace and security that abound.

The speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Chike Olemgbe,  the secretary to the state government (SSG), Chief Cosmas Iwu, the chief of staff to the Governor, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, the chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Emmanuel Okeke and other speakers echoed the sentiments of the deputy governor, insisting that all hands must be on deck for the actualisation of the collective wishes and aspirations of the citizenry.
