Major League Soccer side Inter Miami have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro on a free transfer following his departure from Manchester United.

The club confirmed on Wednesday that the former Brazil international has signed a contract that will keep him in South Florida until the end of the 2027 MLS season, with an option to extend the agreement until June 2029. The move remains subject to the approval of his P-1 visa.

Casemiro arrives at Inter Miami as one of the most decorated midfielders of his generation and becomes the latest high-profile addition to the club’s ambitious project.

Speaking after the announcement, the 34-year-old said Inter Miami’s vision for the future played a decisive role in his decision to join the club.

“For any player, the biggest motivation is to win and continue progressing,” Casemiro said.

“The vision the club presented to me and the determination shown by everyone to make this move happen really impressed me. I am grateful for the confidence they have shown in me and excited to get started both in training and on matchdays.”

Inter Miami Managing Owner Jorge Mas described the signing as another statement of intent from the club.

“Casemiro embodies everything Inter Miami stands for—ambition, leadership and a winning mentality,” Mas said.

“He has achieved the highest honours in world football, and the fact that he has chosen to continue his career with us reflects the direction in which this club is heading.”

Club co-owner David Beckham also welcomed the Brazilian star, praising his remarkable career and trophy-laden pedigree.

“Casemiro is a player I have admired for many years,” Beckham said. “He is a born competitor who has won wherever he has played, and we are delighted to welcome him and his family to Miami.”

Casemiro joins Inter Miami after three seasons at Manchester United, where he won the FA Cup and EFL Cup. Before moving to England, he enjoyed a glittering eight-year spell at Real Madrid, winning five UEFA Champions League titles, three La Liga crowns, three FIFA Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, a Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.

On the international stage, the midfielder earned 91 caps for Brazil, winning the 2019 Copa América and representing his country at the 2018, 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups.

His arrival further strengthens Inter Miami’s star-studded squad as the club continues its pursuit of domestic and continental success.
