The Kano state government has approved over N2 million in compensation for communities affected by the Kabuga to Dayi federal road project.
The state commissioner for Special Duties, Nasiru Garo, said the affected communities include those in the Ungoggo, Rimin Gado, Tofa, Kabo, and Gwarzo Local Government Areas, respectively.
While briefing affected community members, the commissioner said the initiative demonstrates the state governmentās commitment to ensuring fair treatment and support for its citizens, particularly those affected by the development projects.
He said the compensation aims to provide relief and succour to the affected individuals and communities in the area.
āThe governor has graciously approved and released over two billion naira for the compensation exercise to people from those five local government areas.
āThe Kano State Government under the Striking administration of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf urges all eligible individuals who are yet to receive their payments to come forward with relevant documents to the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning for verification and payment of their compensation,ā he stated.
However, Garo pointed out that adequate measures and strategies have been implemented to ensure a smooth and transparent payment process.
