The Kano State Police Command has recovered seven stolen vehicles and arrested several suspects in a clampdown on vehicle theft, armed robbery and other related crimes in the state.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, revealed in a statement that the recoveries followed a series of coordinated operations carried out by the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS) on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
Among the vehicles recovered were a Toyota RAV4 (ash in colour), Peugeot 406 (red), Toyota Corolla (black), Toyota Yaris with registration number Gombe 121 AH, a truck without body, a white Toyota Matrix and a white Forland truck with registration number GAK 701 XA.
“In connection with these recoveries, several suspects have been arrested, including those involved in armed robbery. The suspects are currently helping investigation and will be brought to justice,” the statement added.
Commending the operatives for their professionalism and commitment, CP Bakori also expressed gratitude to residents of the state for their cooperation and continued support for the police.
