Registered voters at Polling Unit 03, Ward 10 in Yagba West local government area of Kogi State, on Saturday, delayed the commencement of the State Assembly election holding at the unit as they expressed displeasure over alleged malpractices witnessed during the Presidential and National Assembly elections three weeks ago.

They refused to allow the election process to commence by protesting that party agents should not be allowed to stand close to the polling booth or use the ballot papers on behalf of voters.

They also alleged that the security personnel, who was attached to the polling unit, is a resident of the unit and investigation revealed that the policeman whose name wasn’t disclosed, is a member of the Special Constabulary Police and not a member of the conventional police.

As at the time of this report, normalcy has been restored at the polling unit and voting has commenced.
