sasaliLos Angeles, the global entertainment capital, is set to host a spectacular opening ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ on Friday, 12th June. This monumental event will kick off a historic summer of football across the USA, featuring an all-star line-up of global superstars.
Music icons Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla are confirmed to headline the celebrations at Los Angeles Stadium.
Additional world-renowned artists are expected to be announced, promising a high-energy spectacle that reflects the tournament’s scale and cultural impact.
For the first time in FIFA World Cup™ history, three distinct opening ceremonies will take place across North America, uniting the continent in a shared global celebration. Mexico City will host its ceremony on 11th June, followed by Toronto and Los Angeles on 12th June.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino commented, “This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become. The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”
Fans attending the Los Angeles ceremony are encouraged to arrive early, with stadium gates opening four hours before the 16:30 local time kick-off. The ceremony itself will commence 90 minutes before the match.
The United States will face Paraguay in the opening match. The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will feature a record 104 matches across 16 Host Cities, starting in Mexico City on Thursday, 11th June, and concluding with the final on Sunday, 19th July, at New York New Jersey Stadium.
