Mailantarki Emerges Vice President Of Nigeria Table Tennis Federation

The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has concluded its elective Congress at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Saturday 4th October, 2025, ushering in a new executive board through a consensus arrangement among the contestants and major stakeholders.

Dr. Adesoji Tayo emerged as the new President of the NTTF. Dr. Tayo, the former Vice President of the table tennis federation, was declared winner following the consensus arrangement in his favour as Honourable Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki, a major sports stakeholder from Gombe State emerged as the Vice President.

The election was finalized by a consensus agreement, promoting unity within the federation’s new leadership. The results were officially announced by the Chief Operating Officer of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) Dr. Kweku Tandoh who served as the Electoral Committee Chairman.

Prior to his emergence as the Vice President, the North East delegates unanimously elected him as the board member representing the North East geopolitical zone in the NTTF board.

The congress was attended by high-profile figures from the Nigerian and African sports community, including: Mr. Wahid Enitan Oshodi, President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) and Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), Barrister Muhammed Abdullahi, the Deputy Secretary General of the Local Olympic Committee (LOC), who also represented the Secretary General of the LOC, Engr. Habu Gumel.

The new leadership, led by Dr. Tayo and Hon. Mailantarki, is now expected to focus on the development and restructuring of table tennis across Nigeria.
