Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has restated his administration’s commitment to promoting education in the state.
The governor stated this while unveiling a female hostel facility at Precious Cornerstone University Ibadan and lauded the couple’s initiative for their love of education.
Represented by his Chief of staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, Makinde prayed that God would replenish the couple’s ability to do more.
In his address, the institution’s chancellor, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, advised old school students to prioritise giving back to their various alma maters as a show of appreciation for the values the institutions impact on them.
Oke, the national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and Presiding Bishop of Sword of The Spirit Ministry said, “To you, my children, I pray that you will be great in life.
“When you have become great, I want you to remember this institution. Old Students should be determined to give back to their alma mater as a show of love and commitment to the continued growth and development of the school that impacted their values and knowledge.”
Oke, whom his wife, Victoria Tokunbo Oke, flanked, said, “We thank God for making the dedication of this magnificent hostel complex, the Temitayo Felix Owolabi Female Hostel at the PCU, a reality.
“We appreciate the love and commitment that Reverend Dr Felix Owolabi and his wife, (Temitayo Owolabi) have shown to the course of this university.” He prayed that God would always be there for them.”
