My Big Fat Greek Wedding is getting a third installation. Universal Studios released a trailer of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 recently on YouTube.
Within the past two decades fans of the movie have enjoyed the frustrations, fun and heartwarming antics of the Portokalos families, whose very Greek heritage and loud families sets them apart from others, even as the newer generations try to fit in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002), and My Big Fat Big Wedding II (2016).
Nia Vardalos returns once again to direct what may be the last installment of the film. This time Vardolos (Toula Miller) has been charged by her dead father Gus Portokalos (played by Michael Constantine), to reconnect with their relations in Greece. Of course, the whole family tag along, resulting in the usual chaos but loving magic that dominates every Portokalos reunion.
One thing Vardalos maintains is consistency, as older cast in the previous movies reprise their roles. John Corbett returns as Vardolos husband Ian Miller in the film, Lainie Kazan as Maria Portokalos, Andrea Martin (Aunt Voula), Gia Carides (Cousin Nikki), Joey Fatone (Cousin Angelo), Stavroula Logothettis’ (Athena), Gerry Mendicino (Thieo Taki), Peter Tharos (Yianni) and Elena Kampouris (Paris Miller). Stephanie Nur (Cousin Qamar), Elias Kacavas (Aristotle) and Daphne Alexander (Air Hostess) are newest addition to the cast.
One thing stands out though in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, there is no wedding plans in sight, unlike the previous films. However, there is the hope of one in sight, as slightly teased in the trailer.
Although there is no release date yet for My Big Fat Wedding 3, the trailer states that is scheduled to premiere soon in cinemas.
