Best-selling female rapper Nicki Minaj has sued Nigerian influencer, Dr Penking, over claims of cyberbullying and copyright infringement.

The Nigerian social media influencer shared an old video of Minaj on X on Saturday, and captioned it, “Nicki Minaj should understand that she has gotten old and retire.”

Responding, Minaj asked if he had permission to use her video before sharing it with her, as it constituted harassment.

The Starships singer then told Dr Penking that he had been added as a defendant in her lawsuit.

“Do you have permission to use this video that I filmed years ago to harass me on this or any platform? You’ve just been added to the suit,” she noted.

Dr Penking, in his defence, mentioned freedom of speech and remarked that Minaj is 43 and should retire.

He also said his team is prepared for the lawsuit, stating that the video is publicly available, and he pointed out that an opinion is not considered harassment.
