More than two months following her divorce from Keith Urban, American legendary actress Nicole Kidman, 58, reveals for the first time the nightmare she went through with the divorce she filed for after 19 years of marriage.
The actress and Urban, who is also 58, both met in 2005 and married a year later. They share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, now 15.
However, in September 2025, news broke that the couple had split after nearly 20 years of marriage, and their divorce was finalised just a few months later in January 2026, with custody and property distribution agreements already settled.
In a conversation with Variety, Kidman reflects on the situation and offers her first comments on the matter, noting that 2025 was a difficult year for her. “I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell.”
The ‘Practical Magic’ actress speaks straightforwardly about her divorce when asked how she was doing after it. “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” she said.
She also stated that her family was and always will remain her number one priority.
“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward, that’s that—everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
Fans speculate that Urban may have done something wrong for Kidman to file for divorce.
