The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) has confirmed Nigeria as the host for the 2025 CAVB U18 Boys and Girls Beach Volleyball Championship scheduled to take place in Abuja from 1st to 7th August.
President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, Engineer Musa Nimrod, announced that over 20 countries have expressed interest in participating in the continental event.
Engr Nimrod assured that preparations were underway to ensure a smooth and successful tournament.
“All is set for Nigeria to host the 2025 CAVB U18 Beach Volleyball Championship in Abuja. We have established the necessary arrangements to ensure that the tournament runs smoothly,” Nimrod stated.
Highlighting Nigeria’s experience in hosting major volleyball events, Nimrod noted, “Nigeria has previously hosted Olympic qualifiers twice and a senior championship, but this will be the first occasion the country hosts the U18 tournament.”
He commended the Federal Government through the National Sports Commission for its support, saying, “I want to applaud the Federal Government of Nigeria for creating an enabling environment for sports to thrive. This opportunity will provide young players with a platform to showcase their talents.”
Looking ahead, Nimrod expressed confidence in Nigeria’s capacity to host global tournaments, “We believe Nigeria is capable of hosting a Pro-Tour sanctioned by the FIVB in the future.”
He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment as a reliable and welcoming nation to host the African nations.
