The collaboration between the NLO and the sponsor is intended to effectively promote and elevate the status of grassroots football in the country with the aim to establish it as a prominent Nigerian spectacle and one of the most flourishing and appealing leagues on the continent.

Head of Corporate Communications, NYML, Ms Obiorah Emmanuella, said her company is happy to connect with footballers at the grassroots level with the mindset to empower and harness their talents for the future.

“We are thrilled to enter this sponsorship deal with the Nationwide League One (NLO) and engage a large audience through our brand. Through this collaboration, we are also excited to connect with the future generation of football athletes at the grassroots level across Nigeria and help them grow.

“The company’s strong commitment to nurturing and empowering talents, fostering opportunities and gratifying fans within its market are among the primary motivations for aligning with the NLO. This sponsorship recognizes NLO not just as a football body but also acknowledges our position as the league with the single-biggest football talent based in Africa. By sponsoring the NLO until 2027, New Year Mega Lottery is building on its rich history as a frontline provider of jobs and empowerment through sports and education in Nigeria.”

NLO chairman, Honorable Silas Agara, commended the company for coming on board as the title sponsor.

“On behalf of the board members and stakeholders of the NLO, I wish to officially welcome you to join us. We are truly delighted to have the New Year Mega Lottery come on board as our title sponsor. We look forward to working with the New Year Mega Lottery in growing and transforming our grassroots talents into global superstars worldwide,” Agara said.
