Ogun State publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Ambassador ‘Tunde Oladunjoye has threatened to institute a legal action against the party’s Leader in Itele Ward 7, Hon. Deko Onamusi for misleading the public into believing that he has been suspended from the party.
Oladunjoye in a protest letter of protest authored by his counsel, Taofik Oladele Lawal Esq is giving Onamusi a 72 hours ultimatum within which to apologise and retract the said publication which he described as “falsehood and misleading”.
In the letter, dated April 20, 2024, a copy of which was obtained by LEADERSHIP, Oladunjoye alleged that the APC leader in Itele Ward 7 maliciously published false information about his personality wherein, he said the APC state publicity secretary had been suspended from the party on grounds of causing polarisation in the party, abuse of office as well as withholding the 2023 election funds.
Describing the purported suspension as “falsehood and far from the truth”, Oladunjoye’s Counsel maintained that Onamusi, who allegedly impersonated the party’s ward chairman, has infringed on the rights of the state publicity secretary through the said publication and as such was libelous.
“The libellous publication referred to in paragraph 6 above was uploaded, shared, forwarded severally on various social media among which, inter alia, are Whatsapp, Facebook and several blogs. You also caused a letter to be written to the Ogun State Headquarters of our client’s political party; the All Progressives Congress (APC), an action which you maliciously and unconstitutionally orchestrated”.
“That the said publications are false and malicious and thus libelous both in their ordinary and intended innuendos,” he said.
