Over 2,000 eyecare practitioners will converge in Umuahia, Abia State capital for the 48th Annual National Conference and Vision Expo of the Nigeria Optometry Association (NOA) in July this year.

He said the Alex Otti-led administration had continued to show greater commitment in providing residents of the state with quality healthcare by establishing the State Eye Health Management Bureau.
„I want to let you know that the choice of state is not misplaced in anywhere. In less than two years there have been several transmission in all sectors of state‘s economy,“ he noted.
In an address, the chapter chairman, Onyedikachi Ogbonna lauded the administration for prioritising healthcare, renovating, and retrofitting primary and secondary health facilities across the state.
Ogbonna, who solicited the support and cooperation of the administration, assured of a more robust cordial relationship between the chapter and the government to serve the society better.
Contributing, the administrator of the bureau, Betty Emeka-Obasi said the governor had made the state stand out as a key partner and a trail blazers in the field of optometry development in the country.
According to the local organising committee chairman of the conference, Joy Alozie, the event will raise awareness among the audience about eye health and vision care and around the host communities.
