The commissioner of police, Niger State Command, CP Ogundele Ayodeji, has convened an inter-agency interface towards ensuring adequate security and conducive environment for the forthcoming general election.

The police public relations officer of the command, Wasiu Abiodun said the commissioner convened the inter-agency consultative committee on election security (ICCES) meeting in his office yesterday in line with the inspector-general of police directive.

He said it was geared towards strengthening cooperation and collaboration among the security agencies, saddled with the responsibility of providing security for free, fair, and credible conduct of the general election.

Abiodun said the NPF is expected to be the lead agency in election security management.
