The Kano State Police Command has successfully recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle belonging to the convoy of the State’s deputy governor.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, confirmed that the vehicle, which was stolen on Monday, was traced and recovered through coordinated efforts by security operatives.
The statement further revealed that a permanent and pensionable driver in the service of the state government whose name was not revealed has been arrested in connection with the theft.
“The incident was a clear breach of trust by the arrested driver,” the statement said, adding that the Deputy Governor’s Office deeply appreciated the professionalism and prompt response of the police and other security agencies involved in the recovery.
The statement further assured the public that the Kano State Government remained fully committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property.
“The general public is hereby advised to remain calm and rest assured that the security of lives and property remains the top priority of the Kano State Government,” it added.
