In a heartwarming display of generosity, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 1,000 cartons of Spaghetti to the Abuja National Mosque for distribution to the needy in the surrounding community.

This initiative, spearheaded by Ustaz Abubakar Siddeeq Muhammad, chairman of the Mosque’s distribution committee, aims to support those in need during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP at the Abuja National Mosque yesterday before the items were distributed to fasting Muslims and the needy, Ustaz Muhammad said His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, directed that his committee ensure the items reached the deserving recipients, including the physically challenged and various organizations involved in assisting Fasting Muslims during iftar sessions. “We are determined to ensure that these items serve those who need them most, both within and beyond the Mosque,” Muhammad stated.

According to him, the donation marks the second phase of the First Lady’s generosity to the Fasting Muslims, following an earlier contribution of 1,000 bags of rice and 100 bags of sugar.

Muhammad expressed gratitude for Senator Tinubu’s continuity of support, stating that she is a leader for all and that compassion transcends faith.

“Earlier, she gave us 1000 bags of rice and 100 bags of rice. Those items were distributed in the same pattern we are doing now in distributing the spaghetti. So, this is the second phase of Her Excellence donation to the Mosque.

The recipients are many and the items are many as well.

“She is a Christian but a leader for all. She is not a leader for the Christians, but a leader for both Christians and Muslims, and she has set a standard and precedent that a leader should take care of all irrespective of his or her faith.”

One of the beneficiaries, Shuaibu Mustapha Labaran, producer of the long-running Ramadan programme “Sahur Live” on NTA, praised the First Lady’s commitment to unity and charity. “Her generosity is appreciated by all who will benefit during this Ramadan season, especially through our quiz segment where viewers can win these gifts,” he remarked.
