Rampaging Youths Kill Niger Village Head

Some youths allegedly sponsored by unknown persons have killed the Village Head of Lambata, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulsafur Lambata, in Gurara local government area of Niger State, over lingering chieftaincy tussle that led to the ascension of the deceased to stool.

LEADERSHIP gathered that to resolve some of the pending issues, a meeting was called and at the meeting, the youth launched a violent attack on the deceased, leading to abrupt end to the meeting.

It was learnt that after the meeting, the Police invited the deceased to write a statement on the attack, which he did before retiring home but was later attacked and killed on Saturday night
