Rep Thanks Constituents, Expresses Readiness For Service Delivery

The member representing Askira Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency of Borno State who is also the deputy chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Communications, Hon Midala Usman Balami, has embarked on a tour of his constituency to express appreciation to his people for electing him.

He told LEADERSHIP Sunday  in his office in Abuja yesterday after the visit that he was in  his constituency not just to express his gratitude for the gesture done to him but to reiterate his commitment to provide effective representation for his people.

He said the stakes are high as far as delivery of dividends of democracy is concerned and he is equal to the task, given his desperation to serve not just for the position but to provide support for his constituents.

Midala said he is a philanthropist, providing humanitarian services to the poor, especially those who have been affected by insurgency, terrorism, banditry and other forms of crime.

“When I got elected as a House member, I knew the expectations were high but deep within me I know that I am desperate to serve my people. Mind you, I am not desperate for the position but desperate to serve and provide support for my people. “And so when I came here after my inauguration as a member of the House of Representatives, my mind has been burdened as to when I should go back to my people to say thank you for supporting me to be victorious in the election. So, after a few months of engagement and the House embarked on recess, I went back to my constituency, in fact from one community to the other to tell them a big thank you for standing by me,” he said.
