A joint security team has busted hideouts of suspected criminals in Lilu, Mbosi and Iseke communities of Ihiala local government area of Anambra State, recovering three unexploded bombs and two abandoned vehicles.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said in a statement that the recovery followed operations carried out by the security agents in the areas, early Saturday.
He said some explosives materials including copper wires, fuel and other dangerous materials were recovered during the operations.
“Following the security intelligence gathered over time, the Joint Security Forces in a planned and coordinated operation busted a criminal camp
in Lilu, Mbosi and Isseke areas of Ihaila, recovered three unexploded improvised explosives, two abandoned vehicles, some explosives materials like copper wires, fuel and other dangerous materials,” Ikenga said.
He added that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam charged the operatives to sustain the tempo of their operations and assured law-abiding residents of the commitment of the police and other security agencies to continually dominate and deny the criminal elements the space to enjoy and commit havoc in the State.
SP Ikenga stated that operations of the joint security team was still ongoing and promised to communicate any further development to the public.
