Tejuosho stated this when the 9th Governing Council of the institution held its maiden meeting at the Council Chamber of the university.

He also promised to bring on board experience as a former senator and former Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Council for the University of Lagos, noting that in the same vein, other members will bring on board rich experiences for the transformation of the specialist institution.

This is just as he charged all to take the appointment as a challenge to put in their best to the services of JoSTUM.

Senator Tejuoso gave assurance that the 9th Governing Council is determined to attract interventions to the university in order to contribute to the nation’s food security while reiterating the need for the council to work in harmony with the university administration for effective service delivery.

He equally urged members to ensure judicious management of the institution’s resources while urging them to apply human face in dealing with all stakeholders in the university.

The meeting also agreed to continue the process of appointment for the substantive university librarian which was advertised since 2023, setting up a 4-Man Committee to screen candidates for the position.

The new Governing Council members also undertook a facilities tour of the campus with the zeal to seek collaborations with development partners and Agencies to address the challenges confronting the university, especially in the areas of research and development and infrastructure.

The council also granted approval of promotions to professorial cadre (Full Professors and Associate Professors) as well as promotions of non-teaching staff.
