Addressing members of the committee for the distribution of Ramadan welfare, Yari directed the committee to identify children with educational needs within the available data of 250,000 households.

He said the committee would make a comprehensive census of children with needs in education at various levels.

“There’s a need to shift to other sectors of social development, to focus on the educational sector by identifying children based on households”, he added.

Yari expressed satisfaction with the just and honest work done by the committee during the distribution exercise.

Yari hoped that the figure of 250,000 households would rise to 750,000 next year.

Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Lawal Liman, said the Yari Ramadan gesture impacted greatly   on food prices and hunger among the people.

He said members of the committee demonstrated fairness and equity in the distribution of the palliatives and urged them to maintain the standard in all their dealings.
